September Long Weekend 2014

Here we are and it’s September 1st, our first labour day weekend at the cottage and another Canadian summer has come to an end (well at least for anyone with students going to school).  But this year we don’t have to pack up our things and head back to BC.  It seems strange to see our neighbours and all the summer vacationers taking their boats out of the water and closing up their cottages for the summer and we are staying.   We still feel like we are only on vacation, but when we took Lucy for a walk tonight the park and streets were deserted.  So this will be our new reality…..living in a town of 50 or so full time residents…..it’s going to get really quiet here.

But Yoga is still on until September 15th at the Oliphant Pavillion and I noticed a knitting store in Port Elgin with classes and weekly group knit nights, so I will be finding my knitting bag and see if I can finish off that shawl I was working on last winter and maybe start something new.   Also, last Sunday we rode the motorcycle into Wiarton and M and I got our library cards and picked up a few good books to read.  And in another 17 sleeps I will be heading back to BC for a visit.  Oh life is good!!!!

So here are a few photos from last night around the camp fire with the some of our neighbours and family.  Hope you had a great long weekend!
