Day 5 – Las Vegas NV to Flagstaff AZ

Our car wasn’t ready yesterday, so we had to wait in Las Vegas until 2 p.m. today to pick up our car.  I wanted to do some shopping and Mark wanted to check out the old downtown Las Vegas strip but unfortunately, at 930 a.m. there isn’t much to see in the old part of Vegas.  We were told later that the best time to see all the action is at night, so we hopped on the bus and headed over to the outlet mall.   I bought a pair of Nike running shoes and a couple of summer t-shirts in anticipation of some warmer weather ahead as almost all of the clothes I have with me are for the winter. Below are a couple of interesting buildings located near the North Outlet Mall.  The metal building is actually a medical center, but I am not sure about the pyramid building.

After picking up our car, we were on our way out of Vegas around 3 p.m.  It was great to have the air conditioning working again but it didn’t come cheap !

We drove 475 km. to Flagstaff Arizona and stayed at the Double Tree Inn.  Lucy has been an amazing traveler and ‘smuggles’  well in her duffle bag without a bark or whimper.  She has been a real trooper !
